Mr Sevilla, that was a very helpful demonstration. Will this electroless nickel plating kit work on polyimide films as well?
I have not tested on such surface yet
Looks great! Would like to try and electroform something like it.
Does this method work with Silver paint? Also, would having an iron paint as a base work? Just wondering since I electro form with copper and silver paints.
Iron paint it's quite hard to work with, this works on Silver, gold and Nickel conductive paint.
Looks good!
does this work with bronze?
Yes
@@MarvinSevilla-gl2gm how much does this cost in general if i had a 5 inch tall figure
Hello, I tried this but it only got some of item. My paint isnt so good maybe I need more graphite? only 1k resistance
Is your solution hot? This will work with large items?
Very informative video. Could this be applied to a painted metal surface that has plastic parts attached? Thanks.
Can you realy chrome plastic this way ????
Hi, nice video, liked and subscribed. May i know what the reducer chemical is? Thanks
The Green Reducer is just Nickel Sulfate at about 20 grams per litter of DI water.
Thanks, and the last one is nickel chloride?
@@akshaykumarvyas No, it's an electroless plating solution. Send me an email to nicamarvin2005@yahoo.com and I will share the details I purchased from a Russian source a few years ago.
@@nicamarvinthanks, i have sent you a mail just now.
Sent you an email
Was the final clear coat a 2K clear coat or a regular cheaper clear coat?
Oil based Polyurethane Wood Varnish.
I get a very grey/silver finish when applying a clear coat over the chrome paint, losing all the reflective effect. Any idea why this could be happening? Is your paint still chrome reflective after a final clear coat?
@@GogocraftFR What is your exact process. Please describe it as I have not lost any of the chrome. I have a video of the finished product on daylight.
@@nicamarvin primer, wet sanding, black base coat, 2k clear coat Until here, no problem. Then: Mirror effect spray paint 2 hours later a 2K clear coat. This last step is where it just blends into a grey silverfish paint. Still metallic, but very cheap looking.
@@GogocraftFR Try the Wood Polyurethane, the one used as Wood Varnish. don't worry if it has a yellowish tint when liquid.
Hi Marvin, Great video! 2K clear coat is very expensive here in Japan. Is there an alternative you recommend before applying the rustoleum mirror? Also, is it fine to apply a grey primer, then a black coating, and only then the clear coat and mirror?
I Used Minwax Oil based Polyurethane Wood Varnish
I'm from Brazil, could you help me with the formula? Where can I find information to carry out this nickel process?
is the nickel room temperature
No, for 3D prints I lower the temperature to 155(150 being the lowest and 160 the maximum)
Is that degress or celcius? And what temperature do you head for plastics?
Do you know where i could get cobalt oxide for electroplating onto graphite or pure nickel sheets?
❤❤❤ QUE BOMITO PAPA ❤❤❤
This is AWESOME! I will try this ASAP. Thank you for the video!
Looks really good for your first dip! Thank you for sharing and making it easier for those of us still trying to work with non-conductive surfaces.
This is really cool, I've tried using the Caswell process for plating my SLA prints but the temperatures required for the degreaser and electroless nickel plating solution are too high. Can you please share the details of the reducer? Also, did you use the electroless nickel plating solution directly or did you water it down as per Caswell's instructions?
Hello, I sent you an email with the Formula and additional info. When using the Caswell Electroless process I plate the parts at a lower temperature of about 155-160 no more than that and it works. The reducer is simply just Nickel Sulfate as prewash just before electroless nickel, you can skip it if you like.
Outstanding work, sir. Have you by chance tried the Duplicolor Copper over the Mirror Effect?
I have, but it's not good. I would try other translucent colors like Tamiya Translucent.
@@nicamarvinawesome. Thank you for the tip. Hope things are on the upswing for you.
Hi super cool video. Question where you buy the printer? I try to find that but not success...

Amazing
Does the electroless work with metal?
Yes, on Steel/Iron, Nickel, Cobalt also on Copper/Brass if you have the part come in contact with a steel hanger
@@nicamarvin thanks
@@6atlantis Check this video where he uses the process to coat a golf article, look at the hook he is using to hang the part on the electroless bath, it's made out of Copper, Copper alone is not catalytic, but once in contact with a catalytic metal(Iron/steel, Nickel, Cobalt) it's going to be coated. ua-cam.com/video/f487RuyG1AY/v-deo.html
Does the caswell electroless nickel plating kit for plastics come with the wetting solution? Just the lable is different
No, it does not. You can purchase it from Angel Gilding
Hello Marvin we wanted to create a similar tennis ball and we don't know if we can use other technics like adidas used with their 4DFWD shoes with carbon; Maybe it will have a better durability, however it have negative impact on the bouncing.
I ordered another ball in TPU90A in SLS 3D Printer. TPU does not break but might not bounce correctly.
What kind of iron powder are you using?

@@nicamarvinty so much!! Im trying this on CBD nugs. I have an electroplating system, but this seems so much easier.
Try nickel electroless ,sir?
My Sensitizer has gone bad, so it will take me a few days to get it. Let me check
@@nicamarvin Yes, I will wait for the results
this is amazing. how strong is the plating on the plastic? I’ve nickle plated plastics with a conductive coating using traditional electroplating, which gives a very tough plating. I’m wondering how this would compare.
This is for Aesthetic purposes only. like spray on Chrome or chrome paint. but it can be used as a conductive paint alternative for high detail parts.
I wish they sold the activator in smaller amounts.
Angel Gilding sells smaller concentrate. angelgilding.com/palladium-sensitizer-concentrate.html I have used their chemicals for more than a decade. But keep in mind that once you mix the palladium concentrate to use it, the shelf life of the mixture is short, You have about 24-48 hours to use it. While the one sold by Caswell Plating is already mixed and has aditives that keep it from going bad.
Ok. Have you tried it on Alclad Chrome ?
Yes, it works on Alclad and Spaz stix
I have been waiting for you to sell paint for a long time Are you ready for sale?
Did you use a DSLR camera to 3D print those?
NO, I got the Printable model from the Internet and had the model printed from a Chinese company and shipped to me.
Where do you get this product?
I made it myself. It's call EZKrome, it's not available yet but I am trying to get it out soon.
That's awesome keep doing 3d printing looking forward to what you find or make
I am ordering a few samples on TPU 90(EOS SLS 3D Printer), anything lower than that then the bounce is absorbed by the TPU and the ball just will not bounce much.
Can we do this on steel, iron, and other materials?
It's Normal Electroless Nikel so it can be applied to properly cleaned, Steel/Iron, Nickel, Cobalt and their alloys. With the help of Contact plating one can plate over Copper, Gold, Silver by making them come in contact with an iron hanger. It's
Can you apply it with a spray gun nickel?
Yes, all you need is to keep the Nickel Electrolyte at 160 degrees or higher.
Will this work for copper parts
Copper Metal Needs to be in contact with steel/iron or nickel metal while immersed
